Mysterious Socks Leave Teacher and Students Baffled

On Tuesday, October 31, a pair of white, slightly stained gym socks were found in the classroom of THRS ELA Instructor Mrs. Newman. After questioning her students, no one came forward to claim them. Several allegations regarding the socks’ true owner were thrown about, but nothing conclusive resulted in the initial investigation. All the accusations lead everyone astray, so I came up with a scheme to dig deeper by interviewing the teacher who found the stinky socks.

Interviewer: When did you find the socks?

Beth Newman: During the hall change between advisory and 1st period.

Interviewer: Where did you find the socks?

Beth Newman: Under a power outlet beneath the whiteboards.

Interviewer: Do you think those are actually your socks?

Beth Newman: No. I do not wear socks like that.

Next, I asked some questions to a fellow student.

Interviewer: Where were you when the socks were found?

Student: I was in Spanish class.

Interviewer: Who do you think the socks belong to? Why?

Student: I think they belong to [classmate’s name] because he always seems to forget something.

Interviewer: *Have** you seen anyone without socks?*

Student: No.

Well, that’s the case of the mysterious socks. Not exactly Case Closed, but if you have any information, please report to Beth Newman in Room 310. And tell the owner to wash the socks.
