Note: This poem is based on the book Farewell to Manzanar
Silent shadows stretched, a sorrowful scene
Families found comfort in courage and care
Barbed wire blocked ambitions, built walls of fear
With dreams of a future they longed to share
Winds whispered quietly, through willows they weaved
Mothers made magic with stories of the old
Though time seemed to tangle their thoughts in despair
Their hearts held the hope that would never go cold
