Note: This poem is based on the book Farewell to Manzanar
“Leaves and windfall pears had piled up beneath the trees.”
“…the moss was dry, the sand needed raking.”
In the quiet garden, there’s peace for you and me
Nature holds its secrets, the air gently shaking
Sunlight shines down, making shadows on the ground
A soft breeze whispers, inviting us to play
In our secret place, calm and quiet is found
We leave all our worries and let them drift away.
